This collection comprises examples of edged weapons (sabres, bayonets and knives), protective armour, uniforms and soldiers’ equipment, as well as personal mementoes, photographs, letters, documents, medals and decorations, commemorative medals, and works of art depicting military themes.

The oldest exhibit in this diverse collection is a sallet helmet from the late 15th century.
