Museum Night

The Night of Museums at the Lubusz Military Museum in Drzonów is one of the region’s most important cultural events, attracting residents of Zielona Góra, the Lubusz Province and visitors from across Poland for many years. The open-air format, the unique setting of the historic park and the rich programme ensure that this event continues to enjoy unwavering popularity.

The first edition of the European Night of Museums in Drzonów took place in 2005, marking the start of the regional history of this pan-European project, which aims to promote museums and history by offering free access to exhibitions and numerous accompanying events.

Each year, the event’s programme includes spectacular historical re-enactments, presentations prepared by museum staff and historical re-enactment groups, as well as new temporary exhibitions dedicated to military history. The history of the Lubusz Land, Zielona Góra and Lower Silesia is presented in an accessible way, and the museum exhibitions take on a whole new dimension after dark.

A major asset of the event is the extensive museum park, which allows for the organisation of large outdoor events and the hosting of thousands of visitors. Previous editions of the Night of Museums in Drzonów have attracted tens of thousands of participants, making this event one of the region’s most recognisable cultural highlights.

Museum Night at the Lubuskie Military Museum is a unique opportunity to discover history in an unusual atmosphere and see the museum from a completely different perspective.
