May Day

May Day

The highlight of the May Day celebrations is the Model-Making Picnic – a regular event held at the Lubuskie Military Museum in Drzonów, which combines a passion for model-making with education and military history. It is a unique opportunity to admire impressive collections of models – from driving and floating models, through cardboard and plastic scale models, to modern RC models. All the exhibits on display showcase the diversity and precision that both experienced modellers and young enthusiasts of this hobby are capable of achieving.

The event also offers modelling workshops, during which participants can try their hand at assembling and controlling models. The youngest visitors have the chance to operate models of military vehicles or ships, thereby developing their manual skills and creativity.

The Model-Making Picnic is also an excellent opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibits in an interactive way. Visitors can explore historic aircraft, tanks and military equipment in the museum park, which provides space for families to explore and play freely.

Thanks to its unique blend of education, history and a passion for model-making, the Model-Making Picnic in Drzonów is an inspiring event that attracts model-making enthusiasts of all ages and promotes active engagement within the museum space.

Meanwhile, on Constitution Day (3 May), visitors can view special temporary exhibitions, learn about the modern equipment of the Polish Army, or take a look inside the combat compartments of the museum’s heavy military equipment.
