About the museum

The Lubuskie Military Museum in Zielona Góra, based in Drzonów, is a registered museum which collects, researches and makes military and historical artefacts available to visitors.

The exhibits on display date from the Middle Ages to the present day and are presented in four permanent exhibition rooms located in the 19th-century, classical-style palace which serves as the museum’s headquarters.

The museum’s highlight is its collection of heavy military equipment, situated in the park surrounding the palace and in the exhibition pavilion. The collection includes – often unique – military vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, tanks, artillery, fortification elements, as well as aeroplanes and helicopters.

The Lubuskie Military Museum offers more than just traditional sightseeing. We were the first museum in the region to organise the European Night of Museums, which today, alongside military picnics, is one of our institution’s flagship events. The museum’s programme also includes educational packages tailored to different age groups, guaranteeing an adventure and the acquisition of a solid dose of knowledge.

The museum was established in 1985 and is a cultural institution of the City of Zielona Góra.
